A True Legend: Shahid Afridi

Sahibzada Mohammad Shahid Khan Afridi known for hitting huge sixes and is called "Boom Boom" by all the cricket lovers around the globe. A cricketer who is the worst nightmare for the bowlers, the savior of Pakistan Cricket team, an entertainer who can cheer up his countrymen when they are frustrated whenever Pakistan is on the edge of losing the match by hitting some magnificent shots and turning the result in his teams favor.
Shahid has been criticized all his career for some those lame shots he plays but has made his country and fans proud of him more and more every time he wins the game for them and those who criticize him are left with no other option other than praising him. Whether you agree or not Shahid has won more hearts than anyone else in cricket specially in South Asia. He resides in the hearts of young as well as elderly ones. You can hate him at times but you cant deny the fact that he is a magician and can turn the results in his team's favour many times.
Nobody knew that a young boy merely of just 16 years who joined the national team as a fast bowler will hit
the fastest ODI century that too in his first match. Oh yes! he joined as a fast bowler and made fastest ODI century of just 37 balls. No buggies in cricket had done it. He held that record for quite a long period of time and then it was recently broken by New Zealand's Anderson, he made on 36 balls and then it was broken by one of great batsman of South Africa AB Devilliers who just made it on 31 balls against West Indies. We wish and hope Lala can break that record again in this world cup 2015.
Afridi has been criticized more than any other player, at least that's what i think. The cannons are always targeted at him whether he performs or not. I think maybe people love to criticize him. I don't get why some people are always targeting him, why cant they see how loyal is he to his team and his country. If he doesn't perform well in any match they turn thier cannons towards him on the other hand some players who don't perform in 3 out of 5 matches are spared from criticism. I don't say that  criticism is bad but it should have a limit and the same behavior should be followed for every player whether he's a star or a young one.
Before criticizing him just look at some of his honors which i tried to collect.
-He holds the record of the 3rd fastest century and 4th fastest century against India off just 45 balls where Ravi Shastri nicknamed him as "Boom Boom Afridi"
-In top 8 fastest ODI half centuries, 4 belongs to him in which twice were completed in 18 balls once in 19 balls and in 20 balls.
-He is the first all-rounder to score 8000* runs, highest strike rate in ODI career (115.11 per 100 balls) and has hit record 343 sixes.
Not only as a batsman but as a bowler he's been equally successful.
-He's a 6th highest wicket taker in ODI's and has got 81 wickets in 77 T20i's.
-He has  2nd best  bowling performance in ODI history (7 wickets-12 runs).
-He is the only player who took 391 wickets and scored 7870 runs in ODI's and in T20i's, he has more than 1000 runs and 50 wickets under his name,
-He has won Man Of The Match awards 32 times which is also a record and is 1st Pakistani and 3rd in the world.

These are just some of his honors from which he has bought glory to Pakistan and made us proud. Apart
from his form, the crowd comes to Stadium just to see him; he is a strong crowd puller. People start leaving the stadium as soon as he gets out. Now that he has announced his retirement from ODI's and can only be seen in T20i's only, his fans are very sad.

Lala, cricket will not be the same without you. There will not be the same enjoyment for us while watching Pakistan's matches after
your retirement.

We will miss you Lala.

Your biggest fan,
-F.A
